Pop diva and actress Lady Gaga is no stranger when it comes to criticism. In fact, she’s ruffled quite a lot of feathers from the beginning of her career.
While most of the initial backlash she got stemmed from her purposely over-the-top fashion choices, she’s now facing a new kind of criticism amidst rumors of a romance between him and the actor Bradley Cooper.
Instagram Backlash
According to a report by the Daily Mail, the wave of commenters that have been swarming the star’s Instagram posts are primarily Russian accounts. The report then noted Irina Shayk‘s Russian roots.
Translating some of the comments, it seems that the users are crossed at the pop star for allegedly taking Cooper away from Shayk and their daughter Lea De Seine.
One of them even made references about ‘returning’ the actor the same way they took back Crimea. Meanwhile, some commenters wrote about their love for the Russian model and told Gaga that she was not welcome to visit the Eurasian country.
Amidst the influx of Russian commenters, some of Lady Gaga’s 36.6 million followers turned the situation towards a more light-hearted tone having what seems to be random conversations in the comment section.
Addressing the Rumors
It can be remembered that Cooper and Shayk, who have been together for four years, called it quits last month. While the reason behind the split still remains a mystery, speculations about Lady Gaga’s involvement began floating around.
This isn’t the first time that the 33-year-old musician’s name has been linked to Cooper’s though. Rumors of them being romantically involved can be traced back to their collaboration on the award-winning film ‘A Star Is Born‘ which the actor directed and starred in along with Lady Gaga.
Gossip about their alleged involvement reignite time and again notably during their heartfelt duet during this year’s Academy Awards and once more when the singer broke off her engagement to ex-fiance Christian Carino.
However, Lady Gaga has previously put the rumors to rest. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, she said that she and Cooper indeed connected while working on the film. But in the end, she said that she’s an artist and that the co-stars just did a good job at acting.
Custody Agreement
Meanwhile, Cooper and Shayk have just settled their custody agreement concerning their daughter.
According to Elle, they ended up equally dividing the physical and legal custody for Lea De Seine and are devoted to co-parenting the child. It’s worth noting though that the ex-couple didn’t have an official document drawn up.
In the end, a source told Elle that Cooper is a great dad and is committed to raising his little girl.
